Oscar Wao was a fantastic book! I haven't read Martin Dressler but I always have a good time with Millhauser, and I ALMSOT included Infinite Jest and Confederacy of Dunces on my list too - but I had more than enough lengthy books already.
Oh, and I love Cather! I have to read My Antonia soon... have you read A Lost Lady??
